The Cincinnati Reds leave interleague baseball for a series against the second place New York Mets. Both the Mets and the Reds are coming off three-game sweeps.
Bronson Arroyo (2-4, 3.79 ERA) is coming off a quality start against the Detroit Tigers, but receiving his sixth no-decision this season. Arroyo only allowed 2 runs off 5 hits against the Tigers, and has not earned a win since May 7th. Tonight he is facing Dillon Gee who is only 4-4 with a 4.42 ERA.
INJURY UPDATES
- Scott Rolen is to play two rehab games in the Reds Triple A Lousiville. Rolen has been out since May 12 with a strained left shoulder, but he is said to join the team in Cleveland on Monday. Bill Bray will also begin a rehab assignment in Louisville.
- Devin Mesoraco left the game in the 9th inning on June 14th against the Cleveland Indians with a pain in his side. He was taken out as a "precaution."
- Chris Heisey left the game in the 5th inning on June 14th against the Indians also as a precaution with a mild left groin strain. Heisey is not playing center field tonight against the Mets.
- Center fielder Drew Stubbs is placed on the 15 day DL with a strained left oblique. Willie Harris optioned from Triple A Louisville.
- RHP Nick Masset placed on the 60 day DL.
